Paulding County College Scholarships

The OSU Extension Office of Paulding County is accepting applications for two local scholarships. Questions regarding these scholarships should be directed to Sylvia Altenburger at 419-399-8225.

Paulding County 4-H College Scholarship

Sponsored by the Paulding County 4-H Advisory Committee

Purpose:  To help young people continue their efforts toward becoming self-directing, productive, contributing members of society.  One $300 dollar scholarship will be awarded to a qualified candidate.

4-H slashesGuidelines:
1.  Applications are due by May 1 each year.  Drop off in office or mail to:  OSU Extension, Paulding County, 503 Fairground Dr., Paulding, Ohio 45879.
2.  Applicant must be a graduating senior.
3.  Funds may be used for tuition, books, or lab fees and will be made payable to the recipient or their school.  Receipts are required if funds are made payable to the recipient.
4.  Applicant must have been a 4-H member in Paulding County for at least four years (including the present year).

Procedure:  Please submit the following information to the Paulding County Extension Office.
1.  Cover letter - please include name, address, phone number and high school attending.
2.  Copy of high school transcript and acceptance letter to an accredited college or university.
3.  Two letters of personal reference, one from a 4-H advisor and one from another source.
4.  Written essay (typed) that tells about your plans for the future and how 4-H has provided you with the necessary skills for a bright and positive future.

Paulding County Agricultural Scholarship

This yearly scholarship (approximately $200 dollars) is funded with interest from a $5000 dollar gift in November of 1995 from the Paulding County Agronomy Committee, Inc. to the Paulding County 4-H and Youth Endowment Fund.

1.  Applicant must be a graduating senior or high school graduate of any Paulding County School, or previous recipient of this scholarship in good standing.
2.  Applicant must be enrolled in an Ohio based college in the pursuit of a degree in agriculture or an agricultural related field.
3.  Applicant must have a high school G.P.A of 2.5 or a college G.P.A of 2.0.
4.  Applications are due by May 1 of each year.  Drop off at the office or mail to:  OSU Extension, Paulding County, 503 Fairground Dr., Paulding, Ohio 45879.
