What is Trauma-Informed Care?

Being "trauma-informed" means that you recognize that trauma comes in many different forms. People who have been traumatized need support and understanding from the people in their lives.

The Trauma-Informed Care program is a 1 - 4 hour long training where participants learn how traumatic events can affect children and adults throughout their lifespan, and how we can work better with those suffering from trauma. This program is used to educate our communities about the impact that trauma can have on the people in our lives and even ourselves. Understanding is the first step to being a supportive person in the lives of those affected by trauma.
